Hello, I'm Dorian Baroni, an Executive Coach, Leadership Retreats Designer, Organizational Advisor, and Entrepreneur. With a passion for lifelong learning and a diverse business background spanning investment banking, global energy, consumer goods, leadership consulting, and art retail, I bring a wealth of experience to the world of leadership in business and nonprofits.
π Global Insights: Having worked across various countries β Italy, UK, US, Venezuela, and Belgium β I joined the business world in 1983, initially driven by research on the impact of automation on Wall Street. My journey, starting as a graduate student at Columbia University and later as a management trainee at Morgan Stanley, unveiled the potential of technology to transform industries. From there I expanded to include social technologies becoming steeped in the value of systems thinking and emergent change methodologies.
π‘ A Curious Mind: My early interest in whether collaboration, trust, and transparency would be enhanced by information systems led me to explore the dynamics of the investment banking industry. While u came to realize that automation had unintended problematic impacts on culture, it ignited a deep passion for creating business cultures that balance financial success with the well-being of employees, communities, and customers.
π― Focus Areas: At the core of my beliefs is the conviction that a leader's journey towards wholeness is key to navigating today's complex challenges. I specialize in helping high-performing teams build trust across differences, emphasizing the power of women's leadership in shaping global mindsets, social systems, and economic impact models.
π€ Collaborative Approach: Working with both individuals and organizational teams, I empower individuals to embrace their true calling and leverage their unique gifts. When engaging with organizations, I identify patterns in culture or structures that hinder creativity and facilitate transformative conversations to overcome challenges.
π Informed Expertise: My coaching and leadership consulting activities have been enriched by collaborations with and/or the teachings of change thought leaders, such as Otto Scharmer, Meg Wheatley, Arawana Hayashi, David Rooke, Lisa Lahey and Bill Isaacs.. I bring cutting-edge insights from programs of personal and individual development with a range of cutting edge practitioners.
π DorianBaroni.com: Through my business, DorianBaroni.com, I work with a diverse range of clients, from senior executives to new talented staff and entrepreneurs, fostering individual resilience and humane cultures.
